Cancellation Policy
At Reservation Paths, we help travelers understand and navigate cancellation processes. This Cancellation Policy explains our role as an independent assistance provider, how service fees apply, and important distinctions between our fees and third‑party travel provider cancellation rules.
Reservation Paths provides cancellation assistance – we help you understand options, contact the airline or cruise line, and guide you through the process. We are not the airline, cruise line, or travel provider. Cancellation fees, refund eligibility, and final decisions are determined solely by the travel provider according to their own cancellation policy. We cannot guarantee refunds or waive airline penalties.
1. Cancellation Assistance – What We Do
When you request cancellation assistance from Reservation Paths, our support specialists will:
- Review your booking details (flight, cruise, car rental, hotel) and explain the provider’s cancellation policy
- Estimate potential refunds or credits based on the provider’s rules
- Assist you in contacting the airline, cruise line, or rental company (if you authorize us)
- Help you complete cancellation requests and track any refund claims
- Provide documentation and follow‑up support as needed
What we do NOT do: We do not process cancellations directly in airline systems (unless explicitly authorized by you and supported by the provider). We do not override airline policies or guarantee refunds. We do not issue refunds for travel costs – those come from the travel provider.
2. Service Fees for Cancellation Assistance
Our cancellation assistance is a paid service. Fees are disclosed before we begin work. Typical fee structures include:
- Flat fee per cancellation request: Covers research, phone time, and coordination with the travel provider.
- Hourly rate for complex cases: For multi‑passenger, international, or non‑standard bookings.
Cancellation assistance fees are non‑refundable once we have started work (e.g., research, phone calls to the provider, form submission). This applies regardless of whether the airline or cruise line grants a refund. You are paying for our time and expertise, not for the outcome of the cancellation.
3. Airline, Cruise, and Travel Provider Cancellation Policies
Each airline, cruise line, hotel, or car rental company has its own cancellation and refund policy. Common types include:
- Non‑refundable fares: No cash refund, but may offer travel credits (often minus change fees).
- Refundable fares: Full or partial refund to original payment method (less any fees).
- Cancel for any reason (CFAR) insurance: May allow partial refunds if purchased.
- Cruise cancellations: Penalties increase as sailing date approaches; often no refund within 30–60 days.
Reservation Paths does not set these policies. We will explain them to you as clearly as possible, but you are ultimately responsible for understanding your booking’s terms. We recommend reviewing the provider’s cancellation policy before requesting assistance.
4. How to Request Cancellation Assistance
To get help with canceling a flight, cruise, car rental, or other travel booking:
- Call us: +1 863 378 3435 – speak directly with a specialist.
- Email us: contacts@reservationpaths.com with your booking details (airline, confirmation number, travel dates).
Please have your booking reference, passenger names, and any existing travel insurance information ready. Our specialist will explain fees and next steps before proceeding.
5. Canceling Your Assistance Request (Before Work Begins)
If you request cancellation assistance but decide not to proceed before we have started any substantive work (e.g., before we research policies or place any calls), you may cancel the assistance request without penalty. Any prepaid service fee will be refunded within 10 business days per our Refund Policy. Once we have begun work, the fee becomes non‑refundable.
6. No Guarantee of Refund or Waiver of Penalties
Reservation Paths does not guarantee that any airline, cruise line, or travel provider will grant a refund, waive cancellation fees, or issue credits. Our assistance is limited to guidance and advocacy within the constraints of the provider’s published policies. You acknowledge that:
- Many economy fares are entirely non‑refundable.
- Basic economy tickets often cannot be canceled or changed.
- Cruise lines impose escalating penalties; last‑minute cancellations usually receive zero refund.
- Even with our help, the final decision rests with the travel provider.
7. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you dispute a service fee charged by Reservation Paths for cancellation assistance, we ask that you contact us first to resolve the issue. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may delay resolution. We will provide evidence of services rendered (call logs, emails, research notes) to your financial institution if necessary.
